Touch of Spring 2017 Farmhouse Tour

March 7, 2017

A special hello to you readers coming from Cheryl’s place at Tidy Mom.  Her family room is Spring time perfection if I do say so myself!  If you haven’t visited please check it out, I’ll be right here waiting.
Back in the Northeast we’re in anticipation mode.  Spring always seems to slowly crawl its way into town.  In hopes of coaxing the season along, I’ve teamed up with 24 bloggers to share our Spring home tours.  There’s so much yummy inspiration and styles you can achieve so let’s dive in.

A Spring house tour of my primitive farmhouse interior. A few simple touches of Spring home decor to make it fresh plus 24 other pretty Spring homes.

I’m starting in the Family Room with few fresh and colorful touches to our neutral farmhouse style.
I think just about every room possible is represented in the home tours so you’ll want to stay awhile and browse around at all the homes.  A special thank you to April at House by Hoff and Krista at The Happy Housie for organizing this tour.

Judging by the thumbnail photos above I’m seeing a trend of floral and green for this Spring!
After you take a quick look below be sure to stop over at Jen’s blog at House of Wood.  She lives in Texas where it’s already Spring temps and her place is so gorgeous you’ll want to move in!

Back in our Family Room I added this bright floral wreath to my wood planked wall quilt and wham we have a winner!  It’s a match made in heaven between the wood tones and pretty, little pale yellow flowers.

More flowers on the table in the cedar boxes I whipped up from scraps.  I also added some bright green throw pillows and a colorful blanket to make it officially Spring in the family room.

Moving from the family room into the kitchen where I styled up the open shelving with more bits of green.

In all honesty I typically prefer all white dishes and serving pieces with the warm wood shelves.  But I added some pops of green for Spring and it’s slowly growing on me.
kitchen open wood shelves
These open wood shelves are so functional and keep all the necessities at hand without letting in the clutter.  And now they are bright and cheerful with new Spring napkins, green bowls and my mini wheelbarrow full of citrus fruits.
From the kitchen we will end up in the Master Bedroom with a Spring mantel.

I know what you’re thinking – St. Patrick’s Day.  And that’s fine because it’s a Spring holiday but honestly I had this giant green gingham idea in my head for days and I just couldn’t shake it.
In real life the green paint is a classic kelly green and not that bright but somehow when I photographed it the green just kept popping against the white walls.

How fun to wake up to green gingham every morning?  I’m calling it farmhouse meets Spring gingham and it was such an easy project. The tutorial to make this gingham wall art is here. It’s the same method as my master bathroom walls in 2 1/2″ squares.

I framed out the painted gingham in stained 1×2 wood boards and then gathered a few more bits of neutral decor to fill up the mantel.

I hope you enjoyed the touches of Spring in my farmhouse.  Fingers crossed the weather will cooperate and bring some milder temperatures soon!

I adore the "curb appeal" of your home, from its color to your great landscaping. It must be nothing but pleasure to drive up to this home and know you are truly at home.

I enjoyed your bright green accent to for your spring decor. So fresh and unique!

    A great job.
