Dreaming of Spring over here while it snows – again. On the bright side all this cold weather makes me appreciate Spring that much more. Let’s celebrate the season with a Spring sign painted with the newest Americana acrylic paint colors.
Add a touch of Spring with a simple sign using the new DecoArt Americana acrylic paint colors. Beautiful and opaque paint coverage for your decor projects.
Wood signs and acrylic paint go together like peas in a pod. I almost always use DecoArt Americana acrylics for all of my scrolled signs and this Spring sign is no exception. DecoArt has added a handful of new colors to their collection and they are gorgeous. Check out these beautiful shades of blue!
These acrylic paints can be used on almost any surface from wood, ceramic, metal and on. I used MDF for these cut out letters and you can see the paint is completely opaque and extremely matte. The consistency of the paint is perfect and goes on smooth without clumping. American acrylics are available in over 260 colors and they are:
- non-toxic
- blend easily
- clean with soap and water
For this project I designed a simple Spring sign using PicMonkey. PicMonkey is a photo editing and design site with a ton of clip art readily available so you can create whatever design you want.
I printed the design in grey scale and secured the paper pattern to MDF using spray adhesive. Then I cut out the design on my scroll saw.
For more details on the painting process please see the full tutorial on the DecoArt blog here.
