Family Room Makeover

September 30, 2013

A family room makeover and a new wreath.

family room makeover
We moved in almost four months ago and finally have the family room in order.

Just a reminder of what the family room used to look like:
family room before
And now (please forgive my collaged picture):
family room after
Yesterday I shared the windowseat makeover and cushion seat cover.
I made a new (old) wreath on the far wall:

And added a round game table in the corner:

The entire room is now painted Benjamin Moore sea pearl with semi gloss white trim.
We covered all the red paneling, trim and built in bookshelves.
The windowseat cushion got a new cover, see how here.

And in this corner we have a round game table with pendant light:

The far left side is not yet totally complete but I have plans:

I used all faux greenery for the wreath:

I simply placed floral stems I had on hand that appealed to me in piles and divided each pile into 3 sections and began building the wreath in thirds:

Then hung the wreath in between the two windows.

That's such a fantastic room to begin with but your transformation is amazing! Is it wrong that I'm kinda coveting your beautiful new family room? 😀

It is beautiful! I love how you didn't use white for the paneling.. It feels so warm and welcoming.
