This post about pantry storage bins is sponsored by The Home Depot. Keeping the pantry neat and tidy is an ongoing task that never ends. But to make things easier I added storage bins and it’s life changing!
Organize the pantry with clear storage bins to keep things tidy. An organized pantry with great visibility and accessibility makes finding things easy.
There is nothing worse than a dark, dingy, messy storage space where you can’t see or find anything. It creates frustration, it makes food unappetizing and is a waste of precious storage space that isn’t being utilized to its full potential. Let’s make the most of your storage space. Whether it’s your pantry, closet, garage or basement, it doesn’t matter. By creating functional and accessible storage you will be rewarding yourself for all that hard work every time you step into the space.
Getting my pantry organized and refreshed took a little bit of muscle and time but the results are well worth it. Just take a look at the before photo below:
Makeover Process:
- Paint walls and shelves bright white.
- Install LED strip lights.
- Organize food and add storage bins.
I definitely wasn’t making the best use of the space but rather just shoving items on top of each other and making piles. By removing everything and making major edits that really helped to cull the space. Then I determined which storage bins would work best for the space based on items I wanted to store.
Big 90 qt. Storage Bin on Floor:
- paper towels and napkins
- toilet paper surplus
- off season clothing
- sleeping bags
The large 90 qt. Sterilite clear storage box allows me to contain the paper towels in one space, keeps them dry and clean and makes use of the floor space below the shelves.
And if you’re anything like me then all your storage bins for one space need to coordinate am I right?
The smaller 6 qt. storage boxes are very inexpensive and absolutely perfect for all the small things flying around your pantry or closet:
- snack bars & pre-portioned cookies
- soup packs and spice packets
- kids pouches
- craft supplies
- shoes
- scarves and accessories
- bathroom supplies and more
In my pantry I’m using these storage bins to corral all the small packaged items in one neat space.
Let’s move up to the top shelf of the pantry and just look at all that storage space up there! It’s a vast field of emptiness that goes all the way to the ceiling.
First I grabbed the 56 qt. Sterilite clear storage box and made sure it would fit in the space.
Then I filled it with my supply of paper party goods like excess paper plates, all the extra party napkins, portable foil containers for special occasions, plastic utensils and cups. Basically I was able to contain all of the paper goods that I don’t use every day but still want easy access to. Storing these items in a clear plastic storage bin allows me to easily see what’s inside at a quick glance.
Of course you could go crazy and use storage bins for almost all of the items in your pantry or closet. But I think at the bare minimum containing the small items, making use of the floor space and top shelf space to corral things is a great start.
