“L” is for Leather

February 7, 2011

Leather flowers.

I used to work for an interior designer back before kids and lots and lots of samples would come through.  Fabric, leather, trim, cord, wallpaper, paint – everything – heaven now that I think about it.

Those days are long gone but I still have a huge bin full of ‘out dated’ leather samples just waiting to be used for a project.

After seeing all the felt flowers out in blogland I thought for sure I could do leather flowers.

Here’s how I made the flowers:
(I prefer the wrong side of the leather to be my front.)

Cut out six petals plus a small circle for the back and a contrasting circle the front center:
Hot glue straight edge of petal together, hold with binder clip:
Hot glue all petals together in circle form onto small circle:
And add your center:
Go crazy and make lots:
I attached a hair clip to the back to make them user friendly:
Now let’s use them:
Bling for your clipboard:
Mother’s Day craft anyone?

    Awesome idea!
For those looking for a cheap leather source, I get tons at the thrift store on dollar day.
