First Place & Thank You

March 26, 2014

We did it!
Thank you to all my readers, friends and family who voted for their favorite Knock Off in the Creating with the Stars Round One competition.
My sliding door console took first place!
I can hardly believe it myself and I am so grateful to everyone who voted for my project.
I won by the skin of my teeth:
(I’m bright orange in the pie graph.)
The competition was fierce, all the contestants brought their A-game submitting ridiculous knock off projects you have to see to believe.
**UPDATED**
In all the excitement I totally forgot to include the inspiration picture.
My knock off is based on the Yorkville Sliding Door Console from Sundance Catalog:

The retail version costs $2500 plus $400 shipping, yikes!
See the full tutorial on how to make the sliding barn door console for $300 here.

I was so stinking excited to see it was your project. You seriously nailed this. Not that I"m surprised. You are my blogging hero. Your projects are always spot-on awesome.

I simply can't believe you finished that so quickly. Actually, I just can't believe any of those projects were completed in a month.

I am utterly floored by your creativity in building this from scratch! It definitely made my "want to build someday" list!! How on EARTH did you come up with scavenging those pulley wheels??
