Coffee Table Makeover

June 4, 2012

A coffee table makeover.

How I refinished a pine coffee table.
A good solid coffee table, a little bit too country:

Refreshed and made new, love the cottage feel:

The table was worn but otherwise in good shape:

And after some paint and distressing it’s like new again:

And large too!

The color is Benjamin Moore durango dust:

It looks much lighter and off white once on the table:

Here’s how I madeover the coffee table:

1. Strip wax and residue using Quikstrip orange gel.
2. Sand. Sand. Sand.
3. Prime with Zinsser cover stain oil based primer:

4. Paint 3 coats Benjamin Moore durango dust 2165-60:

5. Distress edges.
6. Seal with 3 coats clear satin poly.
