“S” is Scrap Wood Projects: Teacher Gifts

November 24, 2014

Save your wood scraps!  I’ve got 5 diy scrap wood projects you can make for teachers this holiday season.

Make this pencil shaped pencil holder from 1×4 scraps.  Add a few holes for pencils and some personalization and you have a great gift for a teacher (and one the students can use too!).  All the details, dimensions and steps are here.

A little piece of plywood and some 1×2 is about all it takes to make this ipad stand.  What teacher wouldn’t appreciate and handmade gift like this?  See the build tutorial here.
One of my all time favorites this apple shaped paperweight is just a scrap piece of 4×4 with a dowel stem.  Every teacher needs an apple on their desk and why not make one from wood scraps?  I’ll show you how here.
Another cute teacher gift you can make with just a piece of plywood – a teacher notes board.  Attach a mini notepad and a pencil holder and you’re ready to give.  Details here.
And because we always associate teachers with chalkboards why not make a few chalkboard ornaments?  See how I to make my version here or you can purchase ready made chalkboard ornaments, add the red trim and polka dots then personalize.
