Paint: personalized kids stool

It comes with a removable seat to reveal the perfect storage spot:

I took a basic Ikea SANSAD children’s stool:
image from Ikea.com
Painted on lots of bright colored cars:

And painted the name:
To make a special personalized gift for a new baby boy:
And even though he’s just a baby this stool should last well into his childhood, here’s my 4 year old buddy boy trying it out:
Here’s how I painted the stool:

1. Print out name (I used Copse font 150 point).
Line up on one side piece and trace letters with ballpoint pen:
2. Paint on and inside the indent left behind from the pen.
I used DecoPaint pens for this project but you could easily use a small brush with acrylics.

After one coat of paint:

3. Tape off lines to make yellow stripes:

4. Draw basic car shape then place on side and trace with ballpoint pen:

5. Paint cars starting with windows, then body color, wheels and final details:

6. Spray clear gloss acrylic sealer.

Cute idea! I'll have to check out that stool next time I'm at Ikea. LOL, I'm already designing a stool in my head and my little guy can't even stand yet!
