This post about Ridgid Octane tools is sponsored by The Home Depot. Say hello to OCTANE, the ultimate in maximum performance for high demand applications. Let’s take a quick look at the Ridgid 18V Octane Hammer Drill and Impact Driver.
Introducing the Ridgid Octane hammer drill and impact driver. Tools geared for maximum performance in high demand situations.
Speaking of high demand situations I just installed about 300 deck screws into my new Ipe wood deck and this Ridgid 18V Octane lithium-ion cordless, brushless impact driver was sure up for the task. This driver has 6 mode settings depending on your task and it’s easy to switch modes with the push button selector. A few of the optional settings on the impact driver:
- auto-stop mode – shuts the driver down after impacting to prevent over-tightening
- fastener assist mode – allows speed control and helps free stripped fasteners
- self-drilling screw mode – prevents overdriving
For my deck job I paired the impact driver with an OCTANE battery which gives me 2400 in. / lbs. of torque. Ridgid leads the power tool industry with this amount of torque in the Octane line. I can imagine this driver would be amazing for really hefty drives through 4x4s.
The other tool in this combo kit is the 18V Octane Lithium-ion cordless, brushless hammer drill. Just like the impact driver it too features high performance brushless motors and advanced electronics that provide Best-in-Class power and intelligence. And a hammer drill is an absolute necessity when drilling into concrete, masonry or stone. This drill has a micro-clutch with over 100 settings and leads the industry in torque as well.
The Ridgid 18V Octane 2 tool Combo Kit includes:
- Octane hammer drill
- Octane impact driver
- 3.0 Ah Octane battery
- 6.0 Ah Octane battery
- 18V charger
- double ended bit
- single bit
- 2 belt hooks with screws
- premium storage bag
Did you know Ridgid tools are backed by the industry’s only lifetime service agreement. Once you get your Ridgid combo kit you need to register online within 90 days. And this allows you to take advantage of Ridgid’s Lifetime Service Agreement. This agreement provides free batteries, parts and service for life on your registered Ridgid tools.
My one complaint is the weight of these drills but there’s a reason why they are slightly heavier. But these are hefty tools and in order to deliver the professional level torque you need a motor and body to back it up. So compared to other brushless drills this Ridgid version is slightly heavier but having all that power is worth the extra weight.
