DIY mini house ornaments from wood scraps:
Make these miniature house ornaments from wood scraps for all your friends and family this holiday season.
I used mostly 1×2 scraps and the like to make these cute little houses.
Handpaint a little red heart because home is always where the heart is :).
Drill a small hole and add some string for hanging.
Super easy, affordable and fast.
How to make a mini house ornament:
Collect 1×2 wood scraps or similar sizes.
Step 1: Mark the center point of the width of your scrap then mark the dog ears at 45 degree angles. Vary the length of your wood pieces to get different size houses.
Step 2: Make the first angled cut. I used a Rockwell Bladerunner for this project but a hand saw or jig saw with a clamp will work too.
Step 3: Turn the wood piece and cut off the other angle.
Sand well.
Step 4: Handpaint a tiny red heart. Spray with clear gloss poly.
Step 5: Drill a small hole at center top. Thread thin red yarn onto needle and then through hole in house. Tie yarn into a knot.
Get started now and you’ll have time to make one for all your friends and family.
