We’re making personalized turkish towels thanks to DecoArt for sponsoring this post. There will be no mistaking whose towel belongs to who after you add personalization. And it’s fast and easy using DecoArt SoSoft fabric paint.
A DIY tutorial to make personalized turkish towels. How to add personalization to turkish towels perfect for kids at the beach or pool.
I took striped turkish towels and made them personal by painting the girls names. And almost any lettering format will work with this fabric paint. It’s easy to control with the perfect consistency so you put the paint where you want it to go for perfect personalized towels. This SoSoft fabric paint is a very soft acrylic paint, it’s permanent and requires no heat setting.
Supplies:
- turkish towels
- DecoArt SoSoft fabric paint
- paint brush
- vinyl stencil (made using Cricut Maker)
- cardboard or scrap wood
After the paint is dry it’s very flexible and doesn’t crack. As a result you can see it bends with the fabric. DecoArt SoSoft fabric paint is available in 72 colors and can be used on almost any fabric. Because one coat provides great coverage, but depending on the color you made need two coats for total opaque coverage.

Can these go in the dryer after being painted?
Jaime says
Hi Kirrily, I put mine in the dryer. They have faded ever so slightly after many washes / dries but I like the ‘worn’ look.
