To follow up from last week’s Basic Builds 101 post I’m sharing this ever so simple jumbo crayon holder. A super easy gift to make and even more fun to give!

Below are step by step instructions to build the jumbo crayon holder. Always follow all safety precautions when using power tools.
Cut List & Supplies:
- 1 – 2×2 @ 6 ½” (crayon holder)
- 1 – 1×2 @ 6 ½” (end)
- 2 – 1×2 @ 12 ½” (sides)
- ¼” plywood @ 12 1/2” x 8”
- 1 ¼” finish nails
- ¾” finish nails
- wood glue
Step 1: Make holes
for crayons using a ½” spade bit (check that bit size matches crayon size). Mark holes with even spacing as per sketch
and drill about 1” deep.

Step 2: Attach sides
to ends using wood glue and 1 ¼” finish nails.
