Happy Friday friends! As we are nearing ever closer to the big day (who’s ready? yikes!!) I continue to share gift build projects as part of the Handbuilt Holiday series with Ana White. Today we are bringing you this beautiful and extremely functional desktop organizer.
It’s a beauty organizer, a desk organizer, a desktop vanity, makeup organizer – you decide but either way it can be made entirely from scrap wood and takes no time to build.
Ana White and I have shared 9 gift builds so far this series. As we near the last few weeks the builds will become smaller and more simple because we know you’re tight on time but that doesn’t mean you can’t make an amazing gift from wood!
What little girl wouldn’t want this bright and cheery beauty organizer to corral all her products and hair supplies?
Ana designed this organizer using standard 3/4″ stock because it’s easily accessible for most diy’ers however this project could also be done in 1/2″ plywood and work just as well.
Space for everything and everything in it’s space!
With a project like this that’s small and easy to assemble I couldn’t build just one. I made 3 all from scrap wood (and there are 2 more waiting to be painted!) thanks to Ana’s amazing plans.
Drawer Details:
The drawer is not actually attached to the organizer but rests on the surface. Be sure to add felts onto the underside for smooth gliding:

Jamie , I made the beauty organizer, but one little problem for me, could you please tell me what the dimension is from the back of the organizer to the angle, its the only dimension not given , a guess is 4 inches , is that correct please help

Hi Cathy, The dimension from the back of the organizer to the angle (including the backing) is 4 1/2″. Hope that helps.
