This post about the DeWalt Atomic combo kit and impact bits is sponsored by The Home Depot. The new Atomic series by DeWalt delivers more bang for your buck so let’s take a closer look. And when paired with the impact screw driving bits you’ve got a powerhouse combo kit that can’t be beat.
A tool review of the Dewalt Atomic compact cordless hammer drill / driver and impact driver. And the Dewalt impact screw driving bits.
Not many days go by when I’m not using a drill or impact driver for some reason. Whether it be building something, fixing something or installing something else I can say without fail I use a drill in some capacity almost every single day. Lately I’ve been using this Dewalt Atomic combo kit compact brushless impact driver and it’s hammer drill sister. The impact driver has 1700 in-lbs of torque which makes screwing into studs a cinch!
When compared to a standard DeWalt brushless drill you can see it’s about the same girth. But if you compare the length in the photo down below the Atomic hammer drill / driver has a much longer nose designed to fit in tight spaces. It measures 6.9″ front to back and weighs only 2.5 pounds.
- 1/2″ hammer drill / driver
- 1/4″ impact driver
- (2) 20V Max batteries
- toughsystem case
The case is extremely spacious with plenty of extra room for all your other small bits.
I tend to gravitate towards the impact driver simply for the torque and power. And as part of the combo kit the Atomic impact driver has become a favorite. It has a brushless motor and 3 LED’s near the chuck so you can see exactly what you’re drilling.
DeWalt Atomic Hammer Drill / Driver:
Included in the combo kit is a brushless hammer drill/driver. Because of the hammer action this enables users to tackle all those masonry drilling projects. The LED light for the drill is positioned on the foot for better visibility. But both tools feature an ergonomic design for balance and easier tool control, along with a removable belt hooks.

The impact driver in only 5.1″ long and weight 2.1 pounds.
DeWalt Impact Screw Driving Bits:
I paired the impact driver with the DeWalt impact screw driving bits. These bits are engineered to last longer than standard bits. Truly I never realized there were specific impact screw bits but now that I have them of course I only use them with my impact driver. They are made with a dual torsion zone which transfers optimal torque for use with an impact driver. That’s all in the engineering and far too scientific for me but I’m sure glad someone figured that out!
While the impact screw driving bits are not sold with the combo kit you might as well purchase them altogether. They make a great sidekick and there’s plenty of space in the combo kit case for a pack of bits.
- Dual torsion zone transfers optimal torque for impact driver use
- Optimized tip geometry provides maximum fit
- Helps to reduce wear, cam-out and stripping of fasteners
- MAX impact screw driving bits
- Compatible with 10X magnetic sleeve for secure screw retention
- Includes 30 pieces
Did you know this DeWalt impact screw driving bits case is connectable to your other DeWalt tough cases?!
