Chocolate Birthday Party
We celebrated my mother-in-law’s 65th birthday this past weekend.
Like most women, she loves chocolate, so I put together a chocolate themed birthday party.
Chocolate cake.
Individual servings of chocolate mousse.
(I made the wood dowel holder previously for another purpose – tutorial here.)
The banner was made using doilies and brown cardstock, see the full tutorial here.
The doilies make the prettiest feminine touch:
I also made chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels.
(The strawberries are displayed on a wood cupcake stand I made here.)
For favors I made ice cream bars out of wood (mainly for the kids).
Wrapped up in cellophane with a ‘Happy Birthday Grandma’ tag the ice cream bars made a great addition to the table among the desserts:
I did plan a few games and one craft for the kids which I didn’t get any photos but if you’re looking for ideas.
1. Chocolate word scramble
2. Chocolate candy taste test guessing game
3. Make giant hershey’s kiss using a plastic funnel and foil
Happy Birthday Barbara.
