“B” is for Burp Cloths #2

August 26, 2012

Sew: ribbon burp cloths
An addition to a gift for a baby girl shower.

Thick and absorbant plus cute:

This new Mom registered for cloth diapers so in addition to purchasing the cloth diapers off the registry I bought an extra package to make into burp cloths:
Add a little pretty ribbon and she’s ready for some spit up:

Here’s how I made the burp cloths:

1. Wash and dry 5 cloth diapers, select ribbons:
2. Fold under 1/4″ of cut ribbon end and pin in place, use the inner seam of the middle portion of the diaper as your sewing guide:
3. Straight stitch inner side of ribbon first, then outer edge:

Super fast, easy and completely washable.

Love these..I made a bunch up for Hailey when I pregnant with her. Unfortunatley or fortunately…I never ended up using them. The child never spit up (unlike the rest of them when they were babies).

Very cute. We did not think about burb clothes when preparing for our first who is now 3 months old. And let me tell you she is an urpy baby. If you catch the light right on our hardwood floors you can see all the spit-up spots. It's pretty gross.

We cut up a couple receiving blankets to make into burp rags because that's what we had on hand.

I love this use of cloth diapers. They are good for so many things.
