“T” is for Terry

May 13, 2011

Ruffled terry cloth pouches.
Perfect for your personal products:
I used a similar method to Kate’s tutorial here at see kate sew.
These pouches measure (9″w x 6″h) are lined with interfacing to help keep the shape and have squared bottom corners.
The ruffle matches the lining and is cut on the bias to keep from fraying too much although I think the unfinished edge of the ruffle actually adds to the fluffy feel of the pouch.
I monogrammed this one, perfect for a spa gift or bridal shower favor.
But I think the ruffles are too cute:
And I made a mini pouch for little girls:
This one measures 5″w x 4″h and closes with velcro.

A little hiding place for all those kid sized toiletries.

And even those these aren’t terry cloth I thought I’d give you a little peek:

Pretty sure they’re going to the shop space.

And I’m all pouched out for now!
Maybe a good idea for end of the year teacher’s gifts with a little sunscreen and iced coffee gift card?

Once I get some time back, I think I'm going to make some of these to have on hand for the birthday parties my daughter gets invited to. Filled with some girly things, these would be perfect!

How fun! I'd never considered using terry cloth before. I have remnants left from making changing pads…now I know what to do with them!
