Fall is just around the corner and the mantel is ready.
As usual the TV creates a huge decorating dilemma so I kept it simple.

The pumpkins started off orange:
Remove the stem, add some hot glue and wrap with twine:
Add a wood stem and grapevine bits and you have this:

Simple, understated but most importantly unobtrusive to the TV viewing eye.

You have no idea how wonderful I find your post. We recently moved and I have had to give up my mantle to a similiar tv situation as you have (I hate it! or at least I did until I saw your post). Thank you so much for the idea, and beleive it or not a bought a bunch of mini white pumpkins this weekend that I havn't set out yet. Off to decorate the tv mantle.
Love your pumpkins too! Thanks for the tutorial.

I love the twine wrapped around the pumpkins. I never know what to do with my fireplace because of the wires under my TV yours looks awesome. And no wires!
I love it!
I totally didn't think about the tv being over the fireplace mantel as such a design dilemma! This is a great solution! Love the twine pumpkins. Too cute!

I love your twine pumpkins. They look so natural and beautiful. Our tv sits on top of our mantle and is huge. I really don't like it there. Does not leave much room for pretty things. Hubby says the tv is the pretty thing.

FABULOUS… this is the best I've ever seen… 🙂
