Build: diy honeycomb hexagon necklace
Make this wood honeycomb hexagon necklace just in time for Mother’s Day.
I made this hexagon shape using the Rockwell BladeRunner saw and now you have the chance to win one for yourself:
And you can make this honeycomb necklace or leave off the leather cording and use it to hold earrings and rings:
Using the miter gauge make 6 – 1″ long cuts with a 30 degree miter on both ends:
Glue all 6 ends together. I used Elmer’s ProBond Advance because it has a super precise nozzle and dries clear.
Trace the hexagon shape onto 1/8″ basswood. The Rockwell BladeRunner is so controlled it makes cutting the tiny backing piece so easy. Glue the backing onto the hexagon and sand edges smooth.
Paint the interior, drill 2 holes on opposing sides and push leather cording through holes.
My daughter hijacked the honeycomb hexagon necklace after school yesterday but it looks so fun on her.
