Please tell me I’m not the only one with a messy yard full of toys strewn about? Well that’s about to change because I just built this outdoor toy storage bin with plenty of space for all the toys. No more excuses now all the toys have a home and it’s easy access for play.
I partnered with Simpson Strong-Tie to make this outdoor toy storage bin a cinch to construct. By using their workbench and shelving kit I was able to build the frame portion with no extra hardware or connectors.
I put together plans for this project and they are posted over on the DIY Done Right site here.
Start with a 2×4 frame, add cleats and hardware cloth, then a base and bit of interior trim to finish it off. Do you have toys that need to be corraled? Perhaps this outdoor toy storage bin might just be the answer.

Perfect! I was searching Pinterest for a way to solve my pool noodle, kick board and beach ball dilemma that I actually loved. It seems I just found it!

love the idea . trying to find a way to store pool toys, nets, supplies, dive sticks, etc and keep them from getting nasty and moldy. sure your box worked in the sun but what about rain? did you find you needed to air things out or …?

Hi Danielle, the storage bin has a slatted floor so rain and snow flow through. We leave our bin out all year long in all the weather and I only clean out a few leaves. Hope that helps.

Keep clicking on the link to take me to the plans but I’m not able to find them after I get there. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks Liz, my apologies somehow Simpson removed the post with plans over there. I will find them (on my old computer) so it may take a bit. Thanks for letting me know.
