What’s not to love about tools? Everyone loves tools so I thought it would be fun to make mini tool ornaments for holiday gifts and I’m sharing the tutorials down below. All of the mini tool ornaments are here in one succinct post with tutorials for each ornament.

It’s quite a collection when they are altogether but I ended up giving them as holiday gifts last Christmas to all my DIY blogging friends.
Once you get the basics down to make one kind of tool it’s very easy to create a bunch.
Mini Tool Ornaments Storage
In order to give the tools as gifts I had to find a packaging option that had compartments. I ended up using plastic storage boxes from the dollar store. And they were inexpensive plus they have perfect little compartments for each ornament.
The only part that didn’t fit into the storage box is the tree pieces. So I made the tree in three pieces for easy assembly / disassembly.
Tool Tree Pieces:
- base: 1×4 cut at 3 1/2″l
- post: 3/4″ dowel cut at 12″l
- cross arm: 1/4″ dowel cut at 14″l
Then I added some filler to the plastic storage box to keep the mini tools safe. And lastly wrapped with jute string and a tag for gift giving.
