A tool review of the Bosch 40′ green cross line laser level. Bright green laser, mounts almost anywhere and completely self leveling.
While hanging the sliding barn door in my son’s bedroom I used the new Bosch self-leveling cross line green laser to ensure the track was mounted level. Our antique home is all out of whack especially at the ceilings so installations must be done with a level or nothing will feel right. Check out that bright green laser! It’s up to four times brighter than standard red beams and visible up to 40 feet.
With the flexible mounting device clamps I was easily able to mount the laser level onto an extra lighting stand. The clamps attach to multiple surfaces and have a 360° rotating neck for quick setup and simple fine-tuning. Simply twist the red knob to loosen, swivel the level until you hit your desired location and tighten the knob.
This tool features Bosch exclusive VisiMax technology, which monitors tool temperature and power consumption to deliver the brightest line for the job. It’s battery operated, comes with the mounting device and a velcro close storage case. The laser operates using the smart pendulum system and it will indicate when out of level. Also you can lock the pendulum for safe transport so it doesn’t bang around.
It’s easy, fast and accurate when setting up. Plus combined with the self leveling pendulum you’re almost guaranteed level and plumb every time. Actual project installation is up to you but having the right tool to indicate alignment is half the battle. The two bright green lines are extremely precise and can be applied to many leveling project situations.
