Call it buffalo check, gingham or just checkered any which way it’s one of my favorite patterns and super easy to create with paint.
A DIY tutorial to paint a large checkered pattern. Create a buffalo check, gingham or large checkered pattern using painters tape and three shades of paint.
Pick three shades of your color of choice and I’ll show you how to create this large checkered pattern over at DecoArt’s blog here. I guarantee there is no measuring involved, no pencil, no tape measure, no yard stick. It’s so easy and fast you’ll want to paint all the things checkered!

I took an Ikea Moppe storage chest and painted a large checkered pattern directly onto the unfinished wood surface. The results are amazing, I had so much fun and I want to make one in every color of the rainbow!
