It’s official, we’ve past Thanksgiving and Christmas is just around the corner. Today I’m sharing this diy #1 shelf with free plans for you.
Time to get building your handmade holiday gifts and Ana and I have you covered with lots of great build plans.
Today it’s a number one shelf for that #1 kid.
Thank you to Ana for making these plans available to everyone.
She’s super smart and made the plans using 1/2″ plywood, one 2×4 panel will do which puts this build at about $20 once you add in the cost of the 1/4″ plywood back panel too.
It’s the perfect shelf for any child to fill up with all their favorite treasures, books and knick knacks:
Inspired by the Pottery Barn Teen #1 shelf:
The inspiration shelf is no longer available so if you want the #1 shelf use Ana’s plans and get building!
How to build a #1 shelf:
1. Follow Ana’s plans to cut and construct.
2. To add the back panel I cut one small piece for the base shelf and one piece for the upper portion. Then jig saw around the edges to get the perfect fit.
Below you can see the upper portion back panel is attached and ready to be jig sawed:

The angles in Ana's plans and cut list are wrong. The angles should be 22.5 degrees and not 45 degrees as specified.
