October 15, 2021

We are kicking off the 2021 Handbuilt Holiday series with a quick and easy project perfect for anyone with kids.  Today Ana White and I are sharing the plans for this letters to Santa mailbox.

letters to Santa mailbox

A DIY tutorial to build a mailbox for letters to Santa. Make this holiday mailbox for kids of all ages to send their letters to Santa.

Each Friday leading up to Christmas we will share plans for a new gift build idea.  We’ve been doing this Handbuilt Holiday series since 2013 (with the exception of 2020).  Hence we have compiled 7 years worth of gift ideas for you to build for all your friends and family members.   See the entire Handbuilt Holiday collection here.

oh my goodness! So cute. You know you’re going to get asked, so here I go! What font is that or do you have a jpeg so we can print. I finally broke out my scroll saw for letters for a box for my son’s engagement so this looks equally hard so I may as well give it a try! Love your ideas and your way of doing things. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!

Thanks Beth, the font is ‘The Holidays’ but I also have the printable file here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fe09m6rOPZktR-ZR-agwdYjxo8Q49TiJ/view?usp=sharing
Check the size – you may want to enlarge a bit before printing. So great to hear you’re back on the scroll saw, it’s like riding a bike. Good luck!!

I just love this … so cute!! Just one question … did you paint the letters on the mailbox, or are those wooden letters? Thanks!

Thanks Shirley, the letters are made from MDF. I cut them on the scroll saw.

The links to the “plans” go in a circle with no added detail. Disappointed, I feel like I fell for clickbait on Pinterest.
