Increasing the functionality of a space is always a good thing so in order to reach the higher upper cabinets in our kitchen I built this simple step stool.
My kids had taken to using the new drawer hardware pulls as a step to get things from the upper cabinets and I was not liking that so I found a solution. Build a DIY step stool and they won’t ruin the drawer hardware! Something not too bulky or heavy or plastic or kidsy and still fits with the rest of the decor, plus it was virtually free!
I built this wood step stool entirely from scrap pieces I already had on hand. Following Ana White’s plans from her blog for the Ladder Table it was very easy to cut and assemble.
My kids are making great use of the new step stool and it looks good too!
