Hearth in the Home Fire Starters and Fire Logs

November 8, 2018

This post about the fireplace is sponsored by Pine Mountain.  The fireplace has long been the center of the home dating back to primitive times when fire was a human essential.  The hearth served many functions, most importantly heat for the home and for cooking food, it was absolutely vital to human survival   The heartbeat of the home revolved around the hearth and I am reminded of this daily as we live in an antique saltbox style farmhouse with a center chimney and three fireplaces.

Make your home cozy and welcoming with a fire in the hearth. Mess free and easy to use wrapped fire starters are basics for this holiday season.

Imagine the dead of winter in New York in 1740 and I am 100% positive this fireplace was going 24/7.  This is our living room or what was originally called the parlor or meeting room and most likely the space where family gathered to eat meals and congregate around the hearth.  Fast forward almost 300 years later and we are still using this fireplace although we no longer rely on it for heat and cooking but rather it has become a beautiful reminder of the past and the importance of the hearth.

Are you ready to make the most of your fireplace this winter season?  Celebrate the hearth with your family and friends by making a fire using wrapped fire starters and firelogs.  Pine Mountain creates products inspired by nature that make it easy for you and your family to cozy up in front of the fireplace.

Easy To Use

No need for newspaper or kindling these fire starters and firelogs are ready to go with the strike of a match.  Load up a bin or perhaps you have space in your wood storage for a few fresh balsam fir scented firelogs and StarterLogg Fire Starters.  They make it so easy to make a fire your family and friends will relish in the warm glow of the hearth.  Nothing is makes you feel more at home than a crackling fire in the fireplace.

The Pine Mountain StarterLogg Fire Starter is a fast and easy way to start a real wood fire.  You can use it indoors for fireplaces or outdoors in fire pits and campfires.  It is America’s number one brand in fire starters and proven quick and easy lighting with no fuss.

Before you begin a fire take the necessary precautions:

  • open the damper and ensure the chimney is clear
  • place logs on grate
  • do not unwrap the starter log
  • lift the paper seam and light wrapper at arrows
  • use only to ignite wood fires
  • use only one fire starter per fire

Having the fireplace makes a home cozy and warm, like wrapping yourself in a cuddly blanket.  There is no substitute for a fire in the hearth and having fire starters on hand makes it easier than ever to get that fire going without fail.

Another option is the American Home by Yankee Candle balsam fir firelogs, a fragrant self burning log with the scent of fresh balsam fir.  Even before you burn these firelogs they emit a pleasant balsam fir scent that fills the air.

With this firelog there is no need for actual wood, it will burn for 3-hours and lights easily in the wrapper.  Always take precaution and use a firescreen to prevent embers from escaping into the room.  Of course you don’t have to wait until the holidays to warm the hearth.  When using the firelog you can enjoy a fire any time of the year.

Did you know these American Home by Yankee Candle balsam fir firelogs burn cleaner than ordinary cordwood producing less particulate matter and carbon monoxide?  Anything that’s better for my chimney and environment is a win in my book.  Prepare your home now for the upcoming season.  And make the hearth the center of your home with a fire in the fireplace.
