Cinco de Mayo party favors
Girl #1 makes her First Holy Communion on Saturday which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo, two parties in one.
Instead of a regular First Communion party we decided to have a little fiesta.
Each favor bag is labeled, I used the Matador font from here..
And lots of plastic pink tablecloth to make the pink decorative poofs on the name tags:
To keep all the cousins entertained the favor bags have some fiesta fun inside:
bubbles, tiny sombreros, stick-on mustaches, sparkle stick-on flowers, playdough and maracas
To fancy up the maracas I added the same plastic pink decorative poof from the name tags on the favor bags to the handle of the maracas:
Super easy, fast and adds a huge punch of color.
Here’s how I made the decorative poof:
1. Cut a 2″ strip of plastic from the roll:
2. Fold strip in half then pull through punched hole in tag:
3. Tie into a bow around bag handle:
4. Clip both sides of bow and folded end to open poof:
5. Pull plastic pieces in opposite directions to make it fluffy:
All together they’re bright and fun and happen to fit perfectly on our artwork ledges in the kitchen:
Let the fiesta begin!
