Here it is, my ultimate holiday gift guide for the DIY’er. If you have a DIY’er on your gift list I guarantee any one of these tools will be greatly appreciated. These are my top 10 must have tools, I have every single one of them and I use them on a regular basis.
A gift guide for the DIY’er in your life. Ten holiday gift ideas for that person who loves to make and do all the things!
Gorilla wood glue works like a charm and fits in a stocking too! And The Home Depot travel mug, almost everyone needs coffee and most importantly this mug has a lid! Any DIY’er will tell you drinking coffee with a thin layer of sawdust is not fun.
This candle!!!! Technically I don’t use this candle in my workshop but I do use it at my desk and the smell is amazing. I highly recommend this candle and be sure to check out everything in their shop because their syrup is amazing too.
Back to the tools because this is what my workspace usually looks like, slightly messy but that means progress. One of my most important tools is that orange Ridgid tri-tap extension cord you see in the right bottom corner above.
I guarantee any DIY’er needs to plug in more than one power tool at a time and this extension cord does the job.
As for power tools I highly recommend this Ryobi Tools starter combo kit. With a drill and circular saw you can get going on almost any project.
Another tool I find extremely useful is the Epson LabelWorks cable and wiring kit. My hardware is organized and neatly labeled making my projects go that much smoother.
The LabelWorks kit has 14 fonts and 10 font styles plus tons of symbols and frames to keep everything organized!
Still going strong and a tool I use on a majority of build projects the Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System is one of my favorites. Easy to use and adjustable settings plus it’s portable which makes this jig a must have for the workshop.
I use my Kreg Jig K4 Pocket Hole System on almost all my building projects, above is part of the built-in closet shelving. It is an invaluable asset to my tool collection and something I use all the time.
I also used the Homeright Finish Max paint sprayer on the closet built-ins and I promise if you’re looking to paint with a professional, smooth finish this is the tool you want to use.
Another must have DIY’er tool is the Rockwell Sonicrafter multi-tool. I use this multi-tool everywhere: pocket hole plugs, kitchen cabinet bumpers, mailbox post, and on and on. It’s power and sturdiness is beyond comparison. The flush cut blade is my most used but it comes with a full arsenal of blades and sanding heads so you can tackle a ton of projects.
And lastly the one item on my gift guide that I cannot work without:
This Milwaukee Tools heated jacket just might be my most valuable tool in my workshop because I work outdoors. Pop the battery in the rear pocket and you’re warm and toasty out in the elements. The majority my workshop is outdoors and I live in the Northeast so when the temperature falls this jacket is a game changer.
I hope you’ve found something perfect for the DIY’er on your list. Having the right tools, even the most simple of things, makes the job so much easier, smoother and better. Good luck with all your gift giving this holiday season!

how awesome is that heated jacket! My shop is outdoors too. Well… I have a small one in the basement, but I love being outdoors.

Thank you so much for the heated jacket idea. I never knew that existed. My shop is in my garage and driveway (haha) so the winter can be brutal in there. Makes it hard to hold a drill let alone build anything. So this is a definite must have now on my list. Thank you so much!
