Paint: teachers lounge sign
Handpainted chalkboard sign framed with 3/8″ L shaped moulding:
This sign will go to my kids school to match all the other classroom signs I made earlier this school year:
The alphabet grosgrain ribbon is from Michaels, it completes the chalkboard theme:
Here’s how I made the teachers lounge sign:
1. Cut 1/4″ plywood to
Paint two coats black chalkboard paint.
Print out letters, I used Calibri font at 125 point. Line up and trace letters using ballpoint pen:
The pressure of the pen will leave an indent in the wood:
2. Paint on and inside the indent, I used white high gloss enamel:
3. Glue apple in place.
Cut frame pieces using miter box and coping saw:
4. Apply wood glue in crevice of moulding:
5. Once all four moulding pieces are on use rubberbands to ‘clamp’ pieces in place while glue dries:
6. Add ribbon to back with pushpins, tie and hang:

I think you're making the best-dressed school ever!

This is super cute, but you need an apostrophe on "Teachers' Lounge." Otherwise, you're making "lounge" a verb, and you're saying that teachers are lounging.
I love the look of everything you've done, though!! And thanks for all the SUPER CLEAR instructions!
