Make: nursery alphabet wall art
A custom request for a new little boy in Florida.
This version combines all the alphabet cards on one piece of wood versus my previous versions where the wood was cut into three panels:
This customer requested 4 rows of 7 cards each and we decided to add the ‘blank’ cards on the bottom row, the first card is a moon and stars:
And the last card is a sun:
It would look great even without the filler ‘blank’ cards.
Here’s how I made the alphabet art:
1. Cut 3/4″ plywood to 24″ x 27″ and paint two coats Martha Stewart rainwater.
Sand to distress edges and stain with Minwax Early American:
2. Lay out the cards for equal spacing and hammer into place with #6 carpet tacks:
Add two sawtooth hangers to back.
