How to personalize a kids fleece robe.

I used a plain navy fleece robe that already had the contrasting buttonhole stitch detail:
Then I found a coordinating cotton fabric and cut out the letters, zig zag stitched them on and now it’s Cubby’s:
(This is not Cubby modeling but my son who is the same size.)
Down below I will share the step by step tutorial to make a personalized robe.
Supplies:
- fleece robe
- coordinating cotton fabric
- fusible medium weight interfacing
- light box
- scissors
- iron
- straight pins
- cotton thread
- sewing machine
Step 1: Print out letters in desired size. Iron fusible interfacing to wrong side of cotton fabric. Using a lightbox place the print out right side down then place the fabric right side down and trace. Cut out the letters.
Step 2: Begin with the middle letter and pin in place.
Step 3: USing a tight zig zag stitch sew the letters to the robe. Add next letters on either side, repeating the process.
You have a completely washable robe and a gift Cubby can truly call his own.

This is adorable! And I have called my now-12-year-old son "Cubby" since he was born 😉

That's just cute! I love how the things you make for kids still have some sophistication to them.
