Build: diy napkin holder
Make this easy wood scrap napkin holder and you’re napkins won’t be flying around the backyard anymore.
Here my napkin holder is loaded with 30 regular size napkins, you could use a bigger 1×10 board for large dinner size napkins or go smaller for cocktail size napkins.
How to make a napkin holder from wood scraps:
– scrap 1×8 @ 7 1/4″l
– scrap 1×2 @ 8″l
– 2 – 1/4″ dowels @ 3″l
– wood glue
– drill and bits
– acrylic paint & brush
Step1: Cut the 1×8 at 7 1/4″l.
Step 2: Mark the center of both sides (red dots) and drill a 1/4″ hole almost 3/4″ deep.
Step 3: Apply glue to ends of dowels and insert into holes.
Step 4: Make corresponding holes in 1×2 using 3/16″ bit.
Print out stars, mine are 3/4″.
Step 5: Center printout on 1×2 and trace outline of stars with ballpoint pen.
The pressure of the pen leaves an impression in the wood.
Step 6: Paint inside the impression.
